Legal Aid is a non-profit corporation that receives federal and state grants to provide free legal help to the poorest residents of Southwestern Virginia. Our clients must have income that is below the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Legal Aid does not handle criminal cases nor does Legal Aid sue for damages...we provide legal help to clients in issues which most seriously affect their lives, such as housing, food, maintaining income and family cases.
